Gyeongju Is Better After Dark 🌙
Gyeongju is one of those cities that changes completely after sunset. The crowds thin out, historic streets become quieter, and illuminated bridges and ancient sites make the city feel very different from the Gyeongju you see during the day.
This week is an especially good time to experience that side of the city. Gyeongju Heritage Night begins on September 18, bringing night views, media art, traditional performances, and hands-on cultural experiences together across some of the city’s most historic neighborhoods.
📢 BEFORE YOU GO
Gyeongju Heritage Night Means Traffic, Too
If you’re visiting this weekend, expect heavier traffic around Gyochon Traditional Village and Woljeonggyo Bridge during Gyeongju Heritage Night. Some roads may also be restricted during the festival, so driving directly into the area may not be the easiest option.
WANTRIP TIP — If you’re staying near downtown Gyeongju, consider walking or using public transportation. Hwangridan-gil, Daereungwon, Gyochon Village, and Woljeonggyo are close enough to combine into one evening route without constantly moving your car.
